Environmental Policy
We are committed to ensuring that our business has as little impact as possible on the environment. We carry out the following procedures and regularly review this list to see if we can improve our eco-credentials.
All of the cotton fabrics used in the manufacture of our baby accessories are organically grown and fairly traded. We buy from UK distributers who source their fabrics directly from Agrocel 'Pure and Fair', which is a farmer's co-operative in India, formed to service the needs of the cotton farmer. The cotton is grown by organic methods, certified by SKAL and is also certified Fair Trade. All the finished products are handmade in Scotland.
The card, paper and envelopes used to manufacture our stationery are made from recycled materials - some of which are made in the UK and some of which are sourced from a UK distributor who deals directly with small community suppliers in India and ensures that fair trade practices are implemented. Water-based glues are used and all the stationery is handmade in Scotland.
We minimise our waste as much as possible and where any waste is created, we recycle as much as we can. We don't keep large stocks of items, (no mass factory production) everything is individually made by hand, usually to order.
We use recycled office stationery and eco-friendly cleaning products.
We use recyclable packaging materials where possible and we re-use the packaging materials from parcels that we receive. When exhibiting at shows, we use recycled paper bags to package customer purchases. We don't purchase any plastic based packaging materials but will reuse any that has been used in packages we receive.
